The Maccabees are to headline All Points East for a long awaited reunion

All Points East, presented by American Express, has some incredible lineups coming up for 2025 and one of those incredible headliners is The Maccabees, after having broken up 8 years ago, they are back playing their biggest show yet.

The UK indie rock legends line up consists of some incredible artists such as Bombay Bicycle Club, CMAT, Black Country, New Road, Dry Cleaning, The Cribs, Everything Everything , Nilüfer Yanya, The Murder Capital, Sorry, Katy J Pearson, Hamish Hawk, Divorce, Prima Queen, Youth Lagoon, TTSSFU, Brigitte Calls me Baby, Folk Bitch Trio, Westside Cowboy, Sex Week, Bold Love, Slow Fiction, Max Baby, The Juice, Warmduscher, The Futureheads, Willie J. Healey, Man/Woman/Chainsaw.

With a lineup this stacked, it is a wonder who we will be seeing at the festival. We have listed some of our personal recommendations as these are new and old faces to us.

Starting off with our main supports, past headliners Bombay Bicycle Club are the night’s special guest. Well known for their punchy and diverse sound, that greatly compliments the headliner, it was a no brainer to have them on the lineup.

Next up is Irish’s finest, CMAT. This addition to the lineup comes after her incredible promotion of her upcoming album Euro-Country. Having been praised by many for her unique blend of country, pop and rock, her second single for Euro-Country, Take a Sexy Picture, gained massive popularity alongside the ‘Woke Maccarana’ dance, created by Sam Morris, which was available every couple scrolls over on TikTok. The dance has transcended the internet as during her current festival run, you could see everyone performing the dance accompanying the second verse. We are thrilled to see what she will do for her All Points East set this Sunday.

Alongside her is multi faceted, post-rock group, Black Country, New Road. Their newest album, Forever Howlong, now vocally fronted by the 3 female voices of the band, has propelled them into the spotlight yet again. With infinitely detailed and skilled performances from the 6 piece band, their set is going to be a must see.

Following onwards from our list is The Murder Capital, who we will have the delight of interviewing on site. Hailing from Ireland, the band are taking the main stage after having opened for Fontaines D.C. last week. Their 3rd album ‘Blindness’ and performance at Glastonbury stole the hearts of many so we are very much looking forward to their set.

Next up is Sorry, who opened for Fontaines D.C. last year on their Romance tour and are coming up to releasing yet another album, Cosplay. With the band’s stand out blend of grunge, lo-fi and shoegaze and having seen their performances before, this is one performance that is not to be missed.

Taking the indie rock scene by storm are Westside Cowboy. Their single, I’ve Never Met Anyone I Thought I Could Really Love (Until I Met You) has been highly popular amongst indieheads and for good reason. The self-proclaimed Britainicana pioneers released their debut EP, ‘This Better Be Something Great’ earlier this month which features the previously mentioned single. Their recent breakthrough in the scene makes us pumped to see what their set at All Points East entails.

And last up on our list is Man/Woman/Chainsaw. The London based art-punk six-piece first started picking up steam with their 3rd single, ‘What Lucy Found There’, which is the first song I found them from, and it has only been up from there. Their new single ‘MadDog’ demonstrates their ability to mix different genres whilst still keeping their usual loud punk sound.

The other All Points East’s 2025 headliners include Barry Can’t Swim, Raye, Cleo Sol and Chase and Status which are recognisable names to anyone. The festival’s previous acts include names like Mitski, The xx, Björk, LCD Soundsystem, The Strokes, The Chemical Brothers, Gorillaz, Kraftwerk, Tame Impala and Bring Me The Horizon.

All Points East has been a long standing festival attracting hundreds and thousands of people every year. It plays a vital role in the London festival scene and funds the local community through its events. For further information and tickets, visit https://www.allpointseastfestival.com/.
